Ker Place’s grounds will be transformed into an outdoor classroom. Program elements include: - Historical interpretation of George Mason and the Virginia Declaration of Rights by a Williamsburg reenactor.
- Revolutionary War reenactment camps demonstrating military life in the 18th century.
-Explore the foodways of 18th century Virginia during a lively, interactive open-fire cooking demonstration with award-winning foodways historian Allison Parker Hedrick of Handmade History - Presentations on Native American culture and history by historian Daniel Firebird Abbot of Jamestown. -
- Engagement with present-day members of the Accohannock Tribe, exploring local Indigenous history, artifacts and cultural continuity.
Demonstrations of traditional crafts ~
- Blacksmithing with Mark Williams
- The Eastern Shore Quilt Guild showing quilting samples and hand crank sewing machines
- Use of the quill pen and wax seals by Manuscript
- Walk through Agnes Ker's Herb & Kitchen Garden with the Master Gardeners
- V250 Mobile Museum Exhibit open for tours.
- Docent led tours of Ker Place which includes the 'Give Me Liberty' Exhibit.
