Living History on the Lawn at Ker Place

Ker Place’s grounds will be transformed into an outdoor classroom. Program elements include:

- Plantation cooking demonstrations by Janice Canady, illustrating daily life in colonial Virginia. - Historical interpretation of George Mason and the Virginia Declaration of Rights by a Williamsburg reenactor.

- Revolutionary War reenactment camps demonstrating military life in the 18th century. - Presentations on Native American culture and history by historian Daniel Firebird Abbot of Jamestown. -

- Engagement with present-day members of the Occohannock Tribe, exploring local Indigenous history and cultural continuity.

Demonstrations of traditional crafts such as blacksmithing, quilting and more.

- V250 Mobile Museum Exhibit open for tours.

- Docent led tours of Ker Place which includes the Give Me Liberty Exhibit.

Admission is Free, food trucks on site
