In the Old West, when the sheriff and deputy’s walked into a saloon, people knew something important was about to happen.
Today, three Saltwater Cowboys walked through the doors of the Chincoteague Pony Centre, and before they spoke, you could tell they were there with a purpose.
About a month ago, I reached out to the Saltwater Cowboys with an idea that had been on my heart—to begin Pony Penning Week with a blessing over the Saltwater Cowboys.
Today, they came to let us know they had met together, talked it over, and were in agreement.
The Chincoteague Pony Centre is honored to host a Blessing of the Saltwater Cowboys.
Before Pony Penning Week begins, we invite our community and visitors to join us.
As we gather in prayer for the safety of the Chincoteague Ponies, the Saltwater Cowboys, and their horses, asking for God’s protection over the week ahead.
We hope you’ll join us for this special gathering as we come together in faith, gratitude, and respect for the men, ponies, and horses that make this treasured Chincoteague tradition possible.
