Marketing & event coordinator

The Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce and Certified Visitor Center welcomes you to apply for the full-time Marketing and Event Coordinator position.

The Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce is a membership driven organization supporting the local business community. With tourism as the primary economic engine, the chamber’s ultimate mission is to bring visitors to the area and drive them to local businesses. The Marketing and Event Coordinator plays an important role in the performance of the organization’s goals.

Primary job responsibilities include:

v  Primary point of contact for all chamber fundraising events and functions:

o   Business After Hours, Open houses, ribbon cuttings, Lunch & Learns, Easter Decoy & Art Festival, Seafood Festival, Oyster Festival, Christmas Parade

v  Manage logistics for all fundraising events and chamber functions

o   Equipment rental, securing venue, food orders, inventory control, permits, coordination of volunteers, merchandise orders, sending invitations, grounds set up and cleanup, vendor applications, etc.

v  Market chamber events and festivals across all digital platforms and paid advertising as determined by consulting with Executive Director

o   Administer all Social Media accounts and monitor for inaccurate or inappropriate comments or links

o   Place Chincoteague events on appropriate websites such as Virginia Tourism Corporation and Eastern Shore of Virginia Tourism Commission

o   Graphic design knowledge a plus but not required

v  Maintain accurate statistical, event and festival data for budgetary and planning purposes

v  Interface with chamber members during functions and events, in the office, over the phone and via email. Assist as needed.

v  Interface with visitors in the office as necessary

v  Attend community functions representing the chamber as needed

v  Assist Executive Director and Membership & Visitor Services Coordinator as needed

This is a full-time, salaried, in-office position. Saturday and evening hours will be occasionally required based on chamber-sponsored events and functions. The Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce provides Health Insurance and Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits to all full-time employees following a three-month probationary period. The salary range is $45,000--$50,000 based on experience.

membership & visitor services coordinator

If so, the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce & Certified Visitor Center welcomes you to apply for our Membership & Visitor Services Coordinator position.

The Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce is a membership driven organization supporting the local business community. With tourism as the primary economic engine, the chamber’s ultimate mission is to bring visitors to the area and drive them to local businesses. The Membership & Visitor Services Coordinator plays an important role in the performance of the organization’s goals.

Primary job responsibilities include:

v  Maintaining multiple databases for membership services

v  Development & distribution of annual Travel Guide & Membership Directory

v  Creation and distribution of weekly e-newsletter

v  Maintenance of chamber website

v  Answering incoming calls from visitors, residents, and chamber members

v  Answering emails from visitors, residents, and chamber members

v  Point of Sale for festival tickets and merchandise

v  Maintaining supplies of member brochures in office

v  Corresponding with members as needed

Other job responsibilities include assisting the Marketing and Event Coordinator and Executive Director as needed. Assisting with chamber functions and festivals to include any and all tasks necessary.

This is a full-time, salaried, in-office position.  Saturday and evening hours will be occasionally required based on chamber-sponsored events and functions. The Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce provides Health Insurance and Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits to all full-time employees following a three-month probationary period. The salary range is $35,000--$40,000 based on experience.
