Cheryl Taylor is a self-taught artist that began painting as a source of stress relief. Inspiration is plentiful from the beautiful Chincoteague Island, Virginia where she resides. The breathtaking sunsets, to the abundant flora and wildlife; all offer her a wonderful pallet inspiring her coastal creations. Her mediums include, acrylic, water colors, alcohol ink, pastels, photography, stained and fused glass, working with shells, driftwood and other nature provided found objects. In addition, she repurposes and beautifies furniture thought to be at the end of its useful life.
Through her art she aims to inspire a deeper appreciation for the delicate ecosystems of the Eastern Shore, encouraging viewers to slow down and immerse themselves in the beauty that surrounds us. In 2022 she became a certified Master Naturalist with a focus on the wildlife, which you will often see in her creations of both glass and paintings.
She has taught various painting and art classes locally and is a member of the Art League of Ocean City, the Worcester County Arts Council, the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance, the Crisfield Arts Syndicate, and the Corbin Gallery Co-op. In addition to showing her work in the galleries you will find her art displayed in many shows and retail locations on the Eastern shore.
