Beebe Ranch
The iconic ranch made famous by Marguerite Henry in the book “ Misty of Chincoteague” is now open to the public as a historic home and museum. The Beebe family and their new born filly, Misty, inspired Mrs. Henry to write the beloved children book in 1946, which is considered one of the best loved books for children of the 20th century. The book “ Misty of Chincoteague” and the three other books written by Marguerite Henry about Chincoteague, Misty and the Beebe family made the Beebe Ranch famous and generations have visited over the decades. Now that the Museum of Chincoteague Island has preserved, protected and opened the ranch for the next generation, the Beebe Ranch is a must do in your visit to Chincoteague.
