NASA Visitor Center presents Astronomy & Night Sky Summer Series.  Discover the night sky from Assateague Island! The event will begin with auditorium presentations followed by stargazing with telescopes. 

Astronomy Presentation

Astronomy 101 Presentation: 7:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 8:30 p.m. at the Herbert H. Bateman Center Auditorium.  8231 Beach Road
Chincoteague Island, VA 23336  757-336-6122. Limited space available, first come, first serve, rain or shine.   

Night Time Observations

Night time observations through telescopes.  8:30 p.m. – 9:45 p.m. Subject to cancellation due to inclement weather; Refuge closes at 10:00 p.m. North End of Parking Lot #1. 

Optional items to bring are binoculars, a red light, and insect repellent. The series is a collaboration between Assateague Island National Seashore, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Delmarva Space Sciences Foundation and the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center.
