“Old Songs, Old Blues and Old Bay” at the Annex.
Tom McHugh and Tom Anthony perform at the Chincoteague Island Theatre Annex, on Monday, July 8th at 7 p.m. where they will evoke images of working waterfront communities through classic waterman’s and boating tunes, and a selection of readings from historic and contemporary writers of the Eastern Shore and the Chesapeake.
Tom McHugh, singer, regional folklorist and composer, plays the banjo and blues harp, and has performed folk, blues, and Chesapeake regional music for most of his life. Bassist Tom Anthony is a mainstay of the Eastern Shore jazz and classical music scenes and teaches classical guitar, lute and acoustic and electric bass at Washington College. The pair have appeared at venues across the Delmarva peninsula.
This performance is part of the Chincoteague Island Arts Organization’s “Monday Nights at Main and Mumford”, a diverse summer-long series of entertaining and informative Monday-evening programs sponsored by your regional newspaper, the Eastern Shore Post. Admission for this program is $5. A beer and wine cash bar is available.
