What
Youll Find at the Museum
Founded in 1988, the Museum is open daily year
round except Wednesday (November thru March), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New
Years Day. Hours are from 10:00 am to 4 pm Mondays through Saturdays and from 1 to 4 pm on
Sundays.
Located in the center of Parksley's business district with its unique shops and friendly merchants, the Museum cooperates with the Greater Parksley Association in sponsoring the Paitsley Spring Festival (1st Saturday in June), the Parksley Fifties Fall Festival (last Saturday in September) and the Festival of Lights (Thanksgiving thru New Years), each of which attracts thousands to our town for special days of old-fashioned fun for the whole family.
Teachers are encouraged to schedule field trips at the Museum. School groups can receive special guided tours free of charge by calling 757-665-5927 and reserving a tour date. Tour bus groups receive special discounts on admission fees. Reservations are requested.
How to Find the MuseumParksley is two miles west of U.S. Route 13 on State Route 176 (or Parksley Road). That's about midway between Salisbury, Md. and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel ... about an hour from either one. Parksley Road becomes Bennett Street (named for one of the founders of the town) when you reach the town limits. Just before Bennett crosses the tracks, turn right on Dunne Avenue. The area to the left is Railroad Square, site of the Railway Museum. Also located nearby are the Antique Car Museum and a Gift Shop. |
