7:00pm - Jim Rapp, executive director of Delmarva Low-Impact Tourism Experiences (DLITE), is passionate about connecting people to nature. He will be sharing his experiences and excitement about the wild places, wildlife, and heritage along the Pocomoke River. DLITE represents a union of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia businesses, conservation organizations, and local, state, and federal partners which have formed an alliance to strengthen and promote low-impact, nature-based tourism on Delmarva. Jim will share exciting new partnership opportunities that will involve the Delmarva Discovery Center in 2008-2009.

7:00pm - Joe Fehrer, Nassawango Land Manager, for the MD Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, will be speaking about the Nassawango Creek Preserve and how local conservation efforts fit into the larger global view. He will expand on the Conservancy’s efforts in Maryland, the Pocomoke River watershed, and also at the Nassawango Creek Preserve.

Chincoteague Decoy Carver’s Assoc. Decoy Show
At the Chincoteague Center,
Sat. – 9am to 5pm, Sun. – 10am to 4pm.
Over 25 exhibitors showcase some of the finest waterfowl carvings and
wildlife art from the area. Meet the carvers and artists. Participate in
the many raffles to be held. Most exhibits are for sale. Most of the
proceeds will be donated back into the community to worthy causes such
as the Island Library, the Scouts, and the Scholarship Fund, just to
name a few.
