Dr. Pesaniello completed her medical degree and psychiatric training at Johns Hopkins University Medical School in 1993. While some of her early work included part-time practice in community mental health, the emphasis of her work was in private practice in Baltimore until 2002, when she relocated to Chincoteague.

Dr. Pesaniello offers individual and group psychotherapy, biofeedback, and medication management. For the last two years, Dr. Pesaniello has put considerable time, funds and energy into introducing biofeedback into her practice. She offers both brain-wave (EEG) neurofeedback training, as well as Heart Rate Variability (HRV) training. The HRV and neurofeedback training are available to patients in other therapy, psychiatric or medical practices as appropriate.

In addition, Dr. Pesaniello is working toward opening to the public one day a week, her resource room where the following will be available without charge for existing patients and for a nominal fee for others. On the days the resource room is open to the public, it will be staffed by one of Dr. Pesaniello’s affiliates or technicians who can assist the public in accessing the following. A library of resource books available for loan for a nominal fee These books cover such topics as sleep, mood disorders, ADD, PTSD, brain health, parenting, couples, spirituality, holistic health, coping with a family member with depression, etc. Audio CD and DVD materials on similar topics, as well as relaxation. For these, a CD and DVD player are available to use on site with a comfortable chair, headphones, and eyeshades if desired.

HRV Training Sessions (These sessions must be proceeded by intake and initial education and training with Dr. Pesaniello whether self-referral or after referral from other practices.) Both a hand-held feedback tool and a computer monitor feedback tool will be available for trainings with staff assistance as needed.
