In the first few months of its operation, one of the largest projects undertaken was the printing of the <i>Chincoteague Beacon, </i>a local newspaper which is still in circulation today (but not printed by the Chamber).</font></p> <p><font face="Arial" size="2">The Chamber has grown from 66 members in 1954 to 272 members in 2007. We are a non-profit, volunteer membership organization serving as the leading spokesman and representative for the businesses on Chincoteague Island. We unite businesses, improving both business and economic development on the island. Therefore, our primary efforts are devoted to bringing tourism to the island. Our office, conveniently located on the way to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, is a point of contact used to service our visitors in many ways to ensure their stay is enjoyable. We are open year-round, <span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Monday-Saturday,</span> between the hours of 9 am & 4:30 pm. We provide a wide selection of literature on accommodations, businesses, relocation information, and student/teacher materials through the mail and in our lobby.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial" size="2">We are a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, <span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">the Eastern Shore Tourism Commission, </span>and the Virginia Tourism Commission.</font></p> <p align="center"><img src="ab-sep.jpg" alt="Text Bar" width="250" height="7"></p> <p><big><big><big>C</big></big></big><font face="Arial" size="2">ome visit our office and our friendly staff during your visit.
