| On Assateague Island, the Fire Company lost 55 of its wild herd of Chincoteague ponies. Ralph Beebe's family lost 75 ponies, and other owners lost a total of 28. Misty and her two offspring were saved by Mr. Beebe who brought them into the kitchen of his home. After the water receded, Misty was taken to an animal hospital south of Pokomoke (Maryland) where she gave birth to her new colt, Stormy, on Sunday. |
